Understanding government publications

Non-parliamentary Papers

Particularly since 1920 Government documents have been produced by Parliament and also by individual Government departments. Unlike the sessional papers, there is no running number sequence for non-parliamentary publications. To find a non-parliamentary paper within a library, it is necessary to know:

  • the year in which the paper was produced
  • the particular Government department which produced it
