Using Libraries

Academic libraries

Other academic libraries are the institutions you are most likely to visit in the course of your research. To help you more easily gain access to them, national and regional schemes have been established. Listed below are two of the most important schemes although there are others which have not been mentioned here. Please read the requirements of each scheme carefully.

Please note that, although you may be able to get access to printed material in other academic libraries quite easily, restrictions may be placed on access to electronic resources. The licensing agreements which academic libraries sign often allow them to give access only to staff and students of that particular institution. If necessary, contact the institution concerned.
